Special Dream
This collection of special dreams takes one into that “in-between”
space of grieving, of loss and letting go, and does two things – it
gives one a peace about the letting go - as the deceased says I’m OK -
and it confirms for the dreamer that , while still a mystery, the
afterlife is real.
For chaplains and others in bereavement ministries, Special Dream
is a personal and inspiring resource. For spiritual directors, it
provides a wonderful collection of testimony about love and loss
and ultimately the enduring life in the Spirit. The book chronicles
death and dying as an important spiritual passage, both for the
actual deceased, as well as anyone on a deeper spiritual journey.
In my therapeutic practice, I have had clients share their own
special dreams, and it is a great gift to be able to place their
experiences in this “special dream” context. Hoffman has indeed
given us all a valuable container – a sacred vessel - for holding
some of our most precious inner experiences.
