New Type of Dream Identified
Native Americans believe that after someone dies, they come back
in a dream to a family member to let the family know they are alright.
It is amazing to see the healing aspect these dreams have on people’s lives.
The dream stories that were sent to me are amazing because they are true
love stories and show how love never dies, even after we pass on, we still carry
love in our hearts. These dream stories show the importance of each person in
your life and how we are connected to each other, our family and friends much
more than we realize.
Although he didn't know it, I believe Barack Obama experienced a Special
Dream, according to his autobiography, "Dreams from my Father".
In the book Barack Obama shares the story of a very intense dream he had
about his deceased father, and said that was among the important experiences
of his life. He had the dream while he was a student at Columbia University, a
year after his father died. He said the dream gave him closure with the man
who had abandoned him at the age of two and his story is very similar to other
stories in my book. When he awoke, he said he had tears on his face from
crying, because the dream was so intense.
I believe him, because I had a "Special Dream" too, after my husband Michael
died suddenly in an accident in 1994. He was 43 years old.
For 10 years I researched this type of dream only to come up empty, for there
was nothing about this specific type of dream anywhere. Then in 2007 I
placed small ads in community papers across the nation, asking people if they
ever had someone close to them die and then appear to them in a dream.
Over three hundred people responded and I collected over one hundred-
twenty stories about this type of dream experience for my book.
